Tailgating Time

Time to up your tailgating game. A day full of football doesn’t require fancy food, but with a few of your fave SGP pieces, you can elevate even the easiest apps to a stylish spread. Below, we’re sharing a few delicious dips that are perfect for the weekend ahead.

HOMEMADE SALSA

  • 2 cans Del Monte stewed tomatoes (original recipe)

  • Handful of cilantro (no need to chop ahead)

  • Juice from half a lime

  • 2 jalapenos, seeded and rough chopped

  • 1/2 tsp cumin

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Combine ingredients in a blender in this order: cilantro, tomatoes, jalapenos, spices and lime juice. Pulse together until you get the desired consistency.

SUSAN’S GUACAMOLE

  • Four avacados - peel and chop two, mash the other two

  • 4 heaping Tbsp of stewed tomatoes (chop the tomato) and a little bit of sauce

  • 3 Tbsp finely chopped purple onion

  • 3 tablespoons of chopped green onion

  • 1/2 tsp minced garlic

  • Handful of chopped cilantro (to taste, but the more the better)

  • 1/2 tsp cumin

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Combine all ingredients in a medium bowl and serve with your favorite tortilla chips.
